B.A.F. Contracting sponsor Cumbria ball two years in a row

We’re thrilled that our Corporate Partner B.A.F. Contracting Ltd have sponsored our Cumbria charity ball for the second year in a row.

Staff from the company have been regular attendees of our charity ball, including when we previously hosted the event in Newcastle before expanding to include a charity ball in the North East and Cumbria.

B.A.F. which is based at Cleator in Cumbria, is run by Ben Finlinson and Amy Edwards, who are long-term supporters of ours.

They offer bulk/heavy haulage services, plant hire, groundworks, resurfacing and aggregates, as well as servicing for HGVs from its on-site workshop & callout van’s.

Ben and Amy are a real ‘dream team’ everything they do within the business supports each other’s job roles and they bounce off each other to enable them to be the successful faces of B.A.F. they are today, going from strength to strength in each aspect of the business’ services.

Over the years they’ve raised thousands of pounds for our charity in appreciation of the life-saving care our team provided Ben back in 2013.

Ben was involved in a serious HGV collision on the A66 near Warcop and suffered a severe facial laceration, badly broken arm, spinal fractures, bruised lungs and solar plexus injuries.

The critical care team from GNAAS administered advanced pain relief and treatment before airlifting Ben to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Amy said: “If it wasn’t for GNAAS and the other emergency services at the scene, Ben would not be here to start and run this very successful business – Ben has always been destined for greatness, due to his work ethic and willingness to simply just get on with it and not let anything stand in his way, I believe this played a big part in his recovery after his accident, nothing will keep him down. We don’t dwell on his accident, supporting the GNAAS is simply a small thank you from us both for saving his life.”

Since the incident, B.A.F. Contracting Ltd has consistently supported GNAAS and is involved in a variety of fundraising activities, as well as wrapping three of their wagons with GNAAS branding to raise awareness of our charity.

Amy said: “GNAAS is our business’ chosen charity since we incorporated and always will be going forward. Over the years we have really enjoyed collaborating with GNAAS, signwriting our wagons, going to the balls, sponsoring events and various other things like installing mini wooden helicopters in Cumbria.”

Recently B.A.F. sponsored our golf day in Brampton, and they will be attending our charity ball at The Halston in Carlisle on 21 November 2025.

They are regular attendees at our annual charity ball and the business has kindly sponsored our entertainment package for the second year in a row.

The ball is open to everyone, and there are expected to be supporters, businesses, patients, and members of our operations team in attendance.
